AVEC

avec, a Mediterranean and Midwestern influenced shared plates restaurant, has remained one of Chicago’s favorites for over 15 years, and now with a second location in the River North neighborhood. Originally conceived as a wine bar, avec is the second concept from celebrated One Off Hospitality. While wine still remains at avec’s core, Chef de Cuisine, Dylan Patel rustic menu features ingredients from valued local purveyors for weekday lunch and daily dinner service. The wine list, while extensive, remains moderately priced and draws primarily from boutique vineyards in Southwestern Europe.

The Publican

A homage to oysters, pork and beer, The Publican's eclectic menu is inspired by simple farmhouse fare in a space evocative of a European beer hall. Executive Chef Paul Kahan has developed a network of purveyors to supply the restaurant with hand-selected, sustainably-harvested fish and seafood as well as sustainably-raised heirloom pork to anchor a rustic menu of simple, imaginative fare.

BIG STAR

Tacos. Whiskey. Honky Tonk. Big Star is a bourbon and beer-focused, taco-slinging, late-night honky-tonk in Wicker Park and Wrigleyville. Executive Chef Paul Kahan and Chef de Cuisine Chris Miller’s menu, inspired by authentic Mexican street food, is complemented by an extensive house-selected single barrel bourbon program.

Dove’s Luncheonette

Set to the sounds of 1960s and 70s Chicago soul and blues, Dove’s Luncheonette offers counter service morning, noon and night in the heart of Chicago’s Wicker Park. Dove’s inviting menu delivers Southern-inspired Mexican cuisine, alongside a tequila and mezcal-focused bar program, with the spirit of genuine hospitality. The 41-stool luncheonette takes its name from Nelson Algren’s A Walk on the Wild Side, and draws inspiration from bygone diners and watering holes to create a place where people from all walks of life can converge over a cup of coffee, cocktail, and a great meal.
